Storm Bert Update: ESB Networks teams make progress through today, reconnecting 49,000 homes, farms and businesses  

• 11,000 customers remain without power, predominantly in counties Donegal, Sligo, Mayo and Galway
• ESB Networks crews and contractors make good progress on restoration, and anticipate most customers currently without power will have their supply restored by tonight

ESB Networks crews and partner contractors have made good progress today in impacted areas to restore power to customers following damage to the electricity network associated with Storm Bert.  

As of 5:10pm, 11,000 customers remain without power, predominantly in counties Donegal, Sligo, Mayo and Galway, down from 60,000 customers who were without supply this morning.  

Crews will continue working late into the evening to restore power to most customers currently without supply. While we are doing everything we can, it is anticipated that some customers will be without supply overnight.  

Estimated restoration times are available on www.PowerCheck.ie and www.ESBNetworks.ie and have become more precise during the day as fault sites are assessed and restoration work progresses. 

A concerted effort is being made in areas of Connemara and West Mayo where some customers remain without supply due to extensive damage from the heavy snow and ice in the early hours of Thursday morning. We appreciate the adverse impact that prolonged lengthy outages have had on family and commercial life.  

With Met Éireann forecasting Storm Bert to dominate our weather through the weekend, further power outages may occur tonight and through Sunday. ESB Networks teams are closely monitoring the storm impact on power supplies and all available resources remain available to respond when and where it’s safe to do so.
