ESB Networks, in its capacity as Distribution System Operator, today publishes for consultation the draft Distribution System Annual Performance Report 2023. Aligning with the CRU’s requirements for PR5, this report is intended to provide customers, industry participants and other interested parties with a clear, accessible, comprehensive, but non-technical report on Distribution System activities for 2023.

Purpose of this consultation
The Report provides an overview of the work and investment carried out to operate and enhance Ireland's electricity distribution network. It highlights significant investments in infrastructure, the integration of renewable energy sources, the installation of smart meters, and improvements in customer engagement. The report also addresses challenges faced during the year and outlines measures taken to ensure network resilience and support the transition to a low-carbon economy. ESB Networks is seeking stakeholders’ views on the draft report: Consultation Question: Are there areas within the report that you feel require more detailed information? When the consultation closes, ESB Networks will review and consider all the comments and publish a final version pending CRU approval.
