First business-to-education reading initiative

'Time to Read' is Ireland's first business-to-education reading initiative. Recognising the need to support the education system and future workforce, ESB Networks partnered with Business in the Community Ireland BITC) in primary schools throughout Ireland, enabling employees to volunteer. The nationwide programme offers children in second class the chance to receive reading support from ESB Networks staff volunteers over 20-weeks.

Since its beginning, ESB Networks staff have taken part in the 'Time to Read' programme, volunteering in schools across the country each year. The programme not only boosts children's enjoyment and confidence in reading but also significantly improves their fluency and comprehension.
