Accessing your smart meter data

With a smart meter, you can now view details of your electricity usage through your  ESB Networks Online Account.

This information can help you manage and understand your electricity usage throughout the day.

How to view your electricity usage

View details of your electricity usage

  • You will see a chart showing your electricity usage over a week, but you can also switch between daily, monthly, or yearly views through the drop down menu above the chart.
  • You can also view a breakdown of your electricity usage during the day/ night/ peak periods. The data on the charts can be shown in kilowatts (kW) or kilowatt hours (kWh). Kilowatts measures your power usage and Kilowatt-hours measures your energy use and is shown on your electricity supplier bill.
  • We update this data regularly, but it may take 36-48 hours for data to appear on your online account. Only you have access to your smart meter data.
  • If you would like to see more detailed information, you can also view and download up to two years of electricity usage, even if you have changed your supplier in that period.
