Follow these short steps to ensure a seamless connection and billing process.

Moving in

Step 1 - Register with a supplier

Register with an electricity supplier

Step 2 - Get your MPRN

You will need to provide your respective supplier with your MPRN number. This is available from the previous occupant, landlord or estate agent.


How to find your MPRN

  • Your Meter Point Reference Number (MPRN) is the unique 11 digit number assigned to your electricity connection and meter.
  • Find it in the top right hand corner of your bill from your electricity supplier.
  • It starts with the digits "10" It is 11 digits long

If you cannot locate your MPRN, please phone our Customer Contact Centre on 1800 372 757 or +353 21 2386555 with the RM and serial number which are printed on the front of your ESB Networks Meter.

 

Step 3 - Take a meter reading

You will also need to take a meter reading.

Moving out

Step 1 - Notify your supplier

Contact your electricity supplier and advise them that you are moving out of your house.

Step 2 - Take a final reading

Give the Supplier the final reading on your electricity meter.

Step 3 - Final bill issues

Your supplier will send you the final bill for payment.
