Report a power outage

What to do if you've lost your electricity supply?

If you've lost your electricity supply, first check if it's just your home that's without power or if there is a fault in the general area.

You can visit PowerCheck to view what faults and fault clusters are known to our team of engineers and view active planned outages. To ensure privacy of information and to identify you on our network you will need your Eircode and Phone Number or 11 digit MPRN and the name or telephone number associated with your account.

You can report your fault on PowerCheck.

What to do if...

My neighbours are also out of power

If your neighbours are also without power go to Powercheck for real-time information on power outages. If your area is not listed you can report your fault online or call 1800 372 999 or +353 21 2382410.

Note: Please quote your MPRN if possible.

My neighbours still have power

If your neighbours have power or if you are unable to check with your neighbours you will need to check your trip switch is on the 'on' position or if your fuses have blown.

The problem may be a fault in your own wiring, which ESB Networks will not be able to repair.

If your trip switch has tripped or a fuse has blown, turn off all your appliances before resetting the switch or replacing the fuse. Please watch the video above on what to do if you have a power cut.

If you have an outside Meter Cabinet also ensure if there is a Circuit Breaker that the switch is in the correct position. Circuit Breakers are installed in all domestic houses built since 2010.

Having carried out these checks if you are still without power you may need to contact us on 1800 372 999 or +353 21 2382410. Please quote your MPRN if possible.

I have a Pay-As-You-Go meter and I've lost power

Check if your emergency credit has run out.  If it has you will need to top up your credit.

If your credit has not run out, check your trips and fuses.

If you are still without power please call 1800 372 999 or +353 21 2382410. Please quote your MPRN if possible.
