Why do I have to upload a 'Notification of Authorisation' when applying for a new connection on behalf of my client?

Agents/Contractors who are submitting an application on behalf of their client must upload a 'Notification of Authorisation' form to confirm they have been approved to submit an application on their client's behalf.

Can an Agent/Contractor submit an application on my behalf?

Yes, an Agent/Contractor can submit an application on your behalf.  You will need to provide your Agent with an email address which will enable ESB Networks to communicate directly with you.  You will also be required to sign a 'Notification of Authorisation' confirming that you have authorised the Agent/Contractor to act on your behalf.

Why do I need to include an email address for my client in addition to a 'notification of authorisation'?

Agents/Contractors are required to include their client's email address which will enable ESB Networks to issue new connection documentation directly to the customer via their ESB Networks Account.

How long is the verification code valid?

The verification code is valid for 5 minutes.

Can I change my email address after I've signed up?

Yes, if you need to change your contact email address then log in and select My Profile, My Details and select Edit Contact Details and enter the email address that you want us to use when contacting you.

I am applying for commercial and domestic premises can I do this with the one registration?

Yes. Once you have registered online you may apply for multiple connections.

I have forgotten my password, how do I get a new password?

We've made some changes - please use the new link below to sign in to your ESB Networks account. 

If you have an existing account and do not remember your password, regardless of having saved it, the forgot password service will not work for you until you complete the registration process again. 

Please use this link, choose “Register now” and use the same email address. All your applications will then be available to you. We appreciate your patience.

 

Follow these steps if you entered an email address as part of your registration:

  1. From the log in screen, select 'Forgot password'
  2. Enter the email address you used to register
  3. Click 'Send verification code'
  4. Check your email for a verification code. This code will ensure that your data is secure
  5. Enter this code into the 'Verification code' field and select 'Verify code'
  6. Create new password

If you provided a mobile telephone number as part of your registration process you can follow these steps:

  1. From the log in screen, select 'Forgot your password'
  2. From the reset your ESB Networks account password, select 'Phone' and continue
  3. Enter your mobile telephone number and check the security checkbox
  4. Check your phone for a verification code. This code will ensure that your data is secure.
  5. Enter this code into the 'Verification code' field and select 'Verify code'
  6. Create new password
I am applying for more than one connection do I need to register separately for them?

No. Once you have registered online you may apply for multiple connections.

Once I have registered what options are available for me to complete online?

When you register online you have the ability to:

  • Apply online for a new connection for a domestic, business or multi-unit premises
  • Apply online to change the capacity of an existing connection
  • Apply online to reconnect a premises if it has been disconnected for more than 2 years
  • Track the progress of any application from submission to live connection, for a connection less than 100kVA
  • Access information on outstanding requirements (such as informing us that your underground service duct is ready) so that we can progress your connection.
I have tried to complete the registration but I am getting an error message?
  • Check your verification code, the verification code is valid for five minutes so this may have timed out.  
  • If this is the case then click resend verification code. 

 

Is there a maximum time to complete online registration?

The verification code that we send to your email address is valid for 5 minutes.

How long does it take to register?

It will take a few minutes to register. Once you input your email address, verify the code we send you via email and then confirm your password your registration will be complete.

What information do I need to complete online registration form?
  • You will need an email address that you will use anytime you want to track your application. 
  • Once you have inputted your email address and clicked send verification code, you will need to access your email address to input this code on the registration page. 
  • Once the email address and code have been verified you will need to input a secure password. Your registration will be complete when you click "Register".
  • If you are completing the registration process via our Smart customer portal then in addition you will be required to update your name and telephone number.

Online connections
  • You need to register first for Online connections and you can then access the online application form. You can register for Online connections here.
  • Once you have inputted your email address and clicked "Send verification code", you will need to access your email address to input this code on the registration page.
  • Once the email address and code have been verified you will need to input a secure password.       
  • Your registration will be complete when you click "Register".

 

Who can apply for online connections?
  • Domestic and commercial customers requiring connections for single, or multi-unit developments may apply online, as well as those seeking a change of capacity.
  • Domestic and commercial customers can also apply online for reconnections, if the premises has been disconnected for more than 2 years.
