At ESB Networks, we’ve been making new connections, building a network that’s stronger than ever and connecting our customers to a clean electric future. We are delighted to announce that we will be extending our pilot on the new simplified Mini-Generation application process so that more of our customers can safely and easily connect electricity generators up to 50kW to the electricity network.  

The new Mini-Generation process has been launched on a pilot basis in line with Ireland’s 2030 Climate Action Plan. Feedback and learnings from the pilot will be used to inform the enduring process. The new streamlined process will ensure that it is now even simpler for our customers who generate their own renewable electricity to export their excess electricity to the local network and therefore play a more active part in connecting Ireland to a clean electric future.
