The ESB Networks’ National Network, Local Connections Programme has been established to bring together changes in how we are generating electricity, and how we are using it. The successful implementation of this programme will enable all electricity customers and communities to play an active role in climate action, by using or storing renewable electricity when it is available to them locally. As this objective can only be achieved with the support of, and close collaboration with, our stakeholders, we are setting up an Advisory Council to guide and inform the programme decision making and policy development. Membership of the council requires attendance at meetings which will be held at least three times annually. At these meetings the programme will be discussed, and views of the Advisory Council will be sought. In addition, assistance or advice may be sought occasionally with respect to specific items within the programme; this may take the form of document review and/or ad hoc meetings.
ESB Networks’ National Network, Local Connections Programme requested expressions of interest for the Advisory Council in Q2,2022, 58 applications were received and a cross section of participants were selected who met the criteria set out in the terms of reference and represented the segments set out below:
