This minimum cost calculator provides an estimation of the minimum costs associated with generator connections to the distribution system operator (DSO) network >200kW. It will not provide the final amount that will be offered to a customer as a detailed study will always be required to identify any potential other costs. The costs shown are the minimum base costs associated with each type of project. After a detailed study, pass through costs (costs not available in the standard charges), transmission system operator (TSO) costs, protection costs, potential uprate costs and any other charges will be identified and added to the costs shown on the minimum cost calculator. For connections less than 1MW, an MV bay price will be included. If teeing into an existing demand line this price will not be required. If teeing into an existing generations line, a per-megawatt (MW) share of the bay will be paid as a refund. It is unlikely that a connection >1MW would tee into an existing demand line. If any items are shared with another generator, they will be shared on a per MW basis. This can be done during construction, or if the asset is already built, the next generators to connect will pay a portion of any shared assets. This calculator is intended to be used with the generator capacity heat map. If uprates are found on the heatmap then a cost guide of standard charges located at the bottom of the calculator can be used to find the additional costs. Not all costs may be covered with the generator standard charge and some additional costs may still be required.
